The Charleston Tigers baseball team finished the regular season 14-2 and will host Holly Springs Thursday in the first round of the Mississippi High School Activities Association playoffs.

The Charleston High School Tigers’ varsity football team will host a spring game Thursday, May 10, against the Lake Cormorant Gators.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Tiger Stadium on the Charleston campus.

Weather conditions have made it difficult for the Charleston High School Tigers baseball team to play, but they have managed to start the season with a perfect 6-0 record.

The Charleston High School Lady Tigers’ powerlifting team captured the Class II North State championship last week.

For a third straight year, the title was decided by tiebreaker.

On National Signing Day Feb. 7, Charleston High School linebacker Fred Hervey signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the four-time national Lions of East Mississippi Community College.

On National Signing Day Feb. 7, Charleston High School Tigers’ defensive back Dequan Street and linebacker Laderius “Bo” Curtis signed National Letters of Intent to play football for the Coahoma Community College Tigers.

WEBB — West Tallahatchie High School Choctaws senior star quarterback, LaCedris Tenner, signed a scholarship offer with Coahoma Community College on Thursday, Feb. 5.


Thomas chooses Co-Lin

On National Signing Day Feb. 4, Charleston High School defensive back Kelvin Thomas signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolves. As a senior at CHS, Thomas registered five tackles and two sacks for the Tigers.


Powell to play at EMCC

Charleston High School defensive back Dontavius Powell signed a National Letter of Intent to play football for the East Mississippi Community College Lions. As a senior at CHS, Powell recorded 29 tackles, four interceptions and one fumble recovery.
