Shooter of two tells police he was fending off attempted robbery

A man who allegedly unleashed a hail of gunfire that seriously injured one man, winged another and generally wreaked havoc outside a west Charleston convenience store at about 5:30 Monday evening, told investigators that he was simply protecting himself from a robbery attempt
