Charles McAtee

OAKLAND  —  Services for Charles J. McAtee will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15,  at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Ruleville.
Mr. McAtee, age 90, died on Monday, Feb. 12, at his home in Oakland.
He was born on July 17, 1927 in Jackson to the late Knapp Sidney and Nellie Malonise Gibson McAtee and lived in Oakland. He was preceded in death by son, Billy Joe McAtee; wife, Ruby G. McAtee; and a brother, Bucky McAtee.
Charles proudly served in the Navy and was a farmer until his retirement.
He is survived by his son, Charles E. McAtee of Oakland; four daughters, Jeannie (Claude) Story of Oakland, Linda Daniel of Oakland, Jackie (Buster) Morris of Drew and June (Bill) Davis of Sumner; sisters, Ethel Estes of Cleveland, Betty Williams of Cleveland, Mary Jo Moody of Ruleville and Judy Bizzell of Cleveland; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Rev. Derrick Simmons and Rev. Ben Kennedy will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Chase Hall, Sid McAtee, Chris Morris, Brandon Windham, Kameron McMinn, Kolten McMinn, Kalean Morris, Seth Scaife and Colby  Scaife. Burial will follow in Drew Cemetery with the Patriot Guard Riders of Mississippi performing military rites.
