Over the course of five years, the Tallahatchie County Wellness Challenge has aided hundreds of local residents in their quest for better fitness and health.

Members, spouses and guests of the East Tallahatchie High School graduating class of 1957 gathered Saturday morning at Square Cafe in Batesville in commemoration of their 60-year reunion.

Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) will be holding a “Holiday Cheer” blood drive at Tallahatchie General Hospital on Monday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The MBS donor coach will be at the hospital.

SUMNER — One of the oldest and largest homes in town burned to the ground in less than two hours early Friday morning, Dec. 1.

Sprucing up City Hall

Eugene Anderson pressure-washes the awning on the front of Charleston City Hall as part of a sprucing-up that he is giving the municipal building.  Anderson was hired by the city to clean and paint the structure’s exterior and has been on the project about two weeks.
