JACKSON — The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I see this a lot in government.
Take the Mississippi Transparency Act of 2008. This law requires the creation of an online database detailing state expenditures. What a great idea!
OXFORD — An Associated Press article I read one recent Sunday reported kids don’t work summer jobs like they used to.
I’m not surprised, considering a lot of things aren’t like they used to be when I was young and when my two children were kids.
OXFORD — I’m no lawyer, so don’t call me an ambulance chaser.
But the reporter in me sparks my curiosity when I see one with its flashing lights, especially if the siren is wailing. I want to know where it’s going and why.
